ABS (ES) CONFERENCE TO TAKE PLACE IN DUBLIN

The 2005 Annual Conference of the Association for Bahá'í Studies (English-Speaking Europe) will be held in the Bahá'í Centre, 24 Burlington Road, Dublin. It starts at 6 pm on Friday 1 July , ending on the afternoon of Sunday 3 July.

The theme is “The Power of the Word”.

Call for Papers: Please submit papers to Sahba Akhavan.

Booking: To facilitate planning the conference, please book (no deposit required), indicating the times of attendance, with Registrar, Eamonn Moane.

Accommodation: For details of accommodation venues in Dublin areas 2, 4, and 6, close to conference venue, see the following two interlinked websites: www.gulliver.ie or www.ireland.ie –the registrar will also be happy to advise.

Cost: For Saturday and/or Sunday (Friday is free):
ABS (ESE) members—£10;
Non-members—£25;
Concession—£20.
Cost for non-members includes membership for one year of the ABS (ESE), which includes a current copy of the Baha’i Studies Review.


UNIT CONVENTION DATES

The Bahá'í Council for Northern Ireland would like all communities and organisers of classes and events to be aware that Unit Convention this year is over the weekend of 22-23 October and asks, in line with NSA policy, that classes and events are not organised for that weekend.

Already, all the rooms are booked out but the venue is ideal for camping and caravanning. It is also possible to contact the local tourist board for bed and breakfast, details below. Even if you plan on coming on a daily basis please do register as soon as possible, so we can arrange numbers for food and children's outings.
