TEACHING NEWS FROM OUR PRIORITY CLUSTER

In the Charles Dunning Cluster, the teaching teams had their second taste of a two week intensive teaching campaign from 30 January to 13 February). Just to share some success stories.

One team successfully utilised firesides (informative), devotionals (Word of God) and coffee mornings (social) to great effect to bring their friends closer to Bahá'u'lláh..

Another team carried out a number of home visits to Bahá’ís and their non-Bahá’í friends. One heart-warming story was, a friend of a teaching team member was going through a very difficult time, and a prayer was offered to be shared with her. The two of them said prayers with tears rolling down. The friend found some solace with praying.

Three teams held dawn prayers every day for the two weeks, they found this a source of greatinspiration and bonding.

Another team studied prayers with three different people. They had a devotional which was followed up with a discussion on what was read, for one hour and a half the Word of God was read and studied.

Another story of sharing a prayer. ‘’I decided to ask one of my colleagues to study a prayer. After much deliberation I eventually just asked and she immediately said yes. We decided that I would study a Baha'i prayer with her one week and that she would study something from the Bible with me the next week. It was a very enjoyable experience and we have decided to continue studying spiritual things together’’.

Friends, before and after the two week intensive teaching campaign, teaching does not stop, the intensive two weeks is to find individuals (friends, colleagues, relatives and other) to engage with you in a Bahá’í activity e.g. the four core activities, firesides etc that will be sustainable. The aim is then to nurture these souls in recognizing Bahá'u'lláh..
