Dr Shirin Fozdar-Foroudi, member of the Board of Counsellors for the Bahá'í Faith in Europe, visited Northern Ireland on 67 May. She consulted with the Bahá'í Council, and with the Northern Lights Area Teaching Committee, about the progress of the Plan here and how we can accelerate this further. Also taking part in consultation was Auxiliary Board Member Matthew Kennedy. This was his first consultation with the Council since his appointment. Patrick O'Mara represented the National Spiritual at the consultation with the Bahá'í Council.
Our photograph shows Counsellor Fozdar-Foroudi, fourth from left, with members of the Council for NI and with ABM Matthew Kennedy behind her left shoulder. In a fine example of co-operation between the various agencies of the Faith NSA member Patrick OMara took the picture.
Congratulations to the six existing Local Spiritual Assemblies in Northern Ireland, which all re-formed at Ridvan: Belfast, Castlereagh, Coleraine, Londonderry, Newtownabbey, and North Down. And special congratulations and welcome to the seventh joining them, the new Spiritual Assembly of Newtownards.
The annual report of the National Spiritual Assembly is always full of useful information, advice, and interesting news. This years it is in a new format, using colour, and even more reader-friendly. The Bahá'í Council warmly recommends that the Friends obtain and read this document, which sets out what has been happening in the national community over the past year (more than you might think!) and shares insights and ideas from which we can all learn from and apply in our own activities and communities.
The National Assembly is making it available to the Friends on request, you can get it in electronic form from resources@bahai.org.uk or of you prefer hard copy contact the National Office.
