BAHÁ’í COUNCIL FOR NORTHERN IRELAND

HOME-FRONT PIONEERING

“….they who cast away their attachments and forsake their homes for the love of God are assured of divine assistance.” Quoted above and below are words of the Universal House of Justice in their letter of 9 March 2007 referring to the vast numbers of pioneers needed both in the international arena, and on the home front in order to win the goals of the Five Year Plan.

Pioneering, as well as travel teaching, have both been vitally important for the progress of the Cause all down the years. The most pressing need now is for those who are inspired and moved to offer themselves as pioneers to: “Arise and settle in clusters receiving systematic attention.”

Northern Lights Cluster needs assistance “to strengthen cycles of activity already under way”.

In Seven Valleys Cluster the need is for help to “lay the groundwork for accelerated growth”.

Recently we were delighted to welcome the move into Bangor of the Haghighi family from Spain. Their valuable assistance not only to North Down Assembly but to the cluster will be greatly appreciated.

We are calling all the friends to search their hearts and see if it is possible to move into the Northern Lights cluster in order to advance the process of growth by setting up their own core activities and fostering a community of interest. Young people coming to study at our universities are especially welcome. Welcome to Clare Parris from Edinburgh for choosing Queen’s University Belfast to study medicine.

Friends can also pioneer within the A-cluster in order to assist in a community where advances are being made locally. The Bahá’í Council will be delighted to hear from anyone wishing to pioneer on the home front within Northern Ireland on either a short or long term basis. Please contact the secretary at any time.

ORDERING YOUR RUHI BOOKS

Last issue of CommuNIque told you how you obtain the books for your Ruhi courses. You can also order / obtain them from the Northern Ireland Bahá'í book agent, Marion Khosravii.

GOING TO THE HOLY LAND?

Are you due to go on Pilgrimage, or making a three-day visit to the World Centre? Not only will this bring you great bounties, it can be an opportunity to share more about the Faith with the people of your area. Such a visit is newsworthy and your local paper will probably print a report about your experience, especially if it is seen as a “pilgrimage with a difference”.

A special press lead is available to help you with this. You can obtain it from the Bahá'í Council’s Press and Public Information Officer.

RESOURCE BOOKLETS AVAILABLE

The Bahá'í Council would like to remind all the Friends in Northern Irelandthat the small ‘activities booklet’ is still available on request (in small or larger quantities). Giving an overview of the core activities for the non-Bahá'í reader, it is professionally-designed, colourful, ideal for handing to friends and enquirers: if you want some copies to give away please get in touch with the Secretary of the Bahá'í Council.

These booklets are resources to be out there working for the Faith, telling people about our various activities and inviting them to join. Why not get some and use them?
