VIDA BACKWELL

Vida Backwell, passed away 2008

Message from Zoë Turner on the death of her mother Vida Backwell

Dear Friends,

Mum was truly honoured by her Bahá'í family, her own family, friends and carers! I just wanted to convey our deepest appreciation for the wonderful way in which her local community in particular, and so many other dear friends, had cared for her with such loving consideration and practical assistance, particularly in her last months since she had been in two hospitals and two nursing homes. They could not have helped her (or us) any more than they did!

Keith, Louis and I are so grateful for all that the community undertook on our behalf, being so far away. In particular taking on the preparations for the service of remembrance, in consultation with the family, and carrying it out with such loving attention to detail in such a short time after her passing. That so many were able to attend and share in the devotional programme and lovingly spend time with us afterwards was a real tribute to Mum. The Master must be smiling down on them with pride in their exemplary services. To all the friends involved we extend our most grateful thanks.

"He who serves has already entered the Kingdom!"
