SYLLABUS FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

On 17 July the External Affairs coordinator met with Stephen Livingstone in the Council for the Curriculum, Exams and Assessment (CEA). Stephen is newly appointed as a staff member who has responsibility for bringing forward proposals for the development of the RE syllabus to include teaching about world religions other than Christianity.

POOR CLARES

The Poor Clare sisters are an enclosed order based on the Cliftonville Road in North Belfast. For a number of years the Fraternity have organised a multi-faith gathering. This year, for the first time, a Bahá'í representative was invited to read a prayer at the gathering.

NEW BELIEVERS

We welcome Mr Alan Montgomery (Crawfordsburn) and Ms Janet Ashdown (Saintfield) who have declared their faith in Bahá'u'lláh and been enrolled in the Bahá'í community.
