SUMMER SCHOOL 2011 - THEME “A LIFE OF SERVICE”

“The long-established summer school now held in the Belfast area plays a significant part in the life of the Northern Ireland community and to this end the Assembly would hope to see it further develop on a firm foundation.”
National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United Kingdom, October 2010

"… every Bahá'í Summer School should [combine] the threefold features of devotion, study and recreation. Only through such a harmonious combination of these three elements can the institution of the Summer School yield the maximum of beneficent results, and fulfil its true function of deepening the knowledge, stimulating the zeal, and fostering the spirit of fellowship among the believers in every Bahá'í community."
(Shoghi Effendi quoted in "Compilation of Compilations", vol. I p. 28)

The Northern Ireland Summer School aims to be just that sort of gathering. We have a great venue, excellent speakers, a balanced and diverse programme, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere - all that's missing from the mix is YOU.

The theme of Summer School this year is "A LIFE OF SERVICE". It brings together the life and example of the life of 'Abdú'l-Bahá, the centenary of Whose travels in the West we will all be celebrating soon, and the life we ourselves can and should be leading. Why not join us in our efforts to reach the level set by the Guardian and have a great time in the process?
