The World-Wide Web,
the Bahá'í Faith,
and YOU
|
- It's a fact - Well over half the enquiries about the Faith that come
in to the National Assembly are now generated via the Internet / World-Wide
Web, and the number and proportion are going up all the time
- It's a fact - When someone wants to know about the
Bahá'í Faith these days, especially a young person, they are far
more likely to go on the Net than they are to go to the library.
- .It's a fact - If your local community has a Website it helps the
Faith at all levels - local, regional, national, even international.
- It's a fact - If your local Bahá'í community doesn't
have a Website it reflects poorly on you and on the Faith, especially with
young seekers.
- AND it's a fact - The National Spiritual Assembly has a special
project, being carried out on its behalf by OPI-Local (formerly the
Bahá'í Information Office), to help every local community
establish a Web presence.
This is the Web of Faith project. YOU can be a part of it. Sadly it is also a
fact that only five communities in Northern Ireland have an up-to-date Website
which is in the UK Bahá'í domain i.e. listed and linked on the
NSA's site and using its official URL (web address) as requested by the
National Assembly in the light of guidance from the Universal House of Justice.
The recent boundary changes are a great opportunity to have MORE Websites -
there is no reason why a small group, even just a family in one area, should
not have a site representing the Bahá'ís of that area. It's not
that hard, honest!
We can help with advice, suggestions, resources - if you are totally at sea
with the Web (to mix a metaphor, sorry) we can even construct a simple but
effective site for you. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? For information and resources
