COMMUNITY NEWS

May in Magherafelt

The last week in May, two events involved the Bahá'í community. The Spires Integrated Primary School asked for a Bahá'í morning assembly in which the Bahá'í Faith was to be clearly explained to the children. Arjang and Edwina Agahi organised an Audio Visual presentation. A prayer was said and a short talk on the oneness of God, Humanity and Religion was given.

On Friday 24th as part of the Magherafelt festival an international evening was held. Speakers mentioned the Bahá'í faith 5 times. A local Salsa team joined up with the Belfast Salsa team which is well supported by the Belfast Baha'ís and a great time was had by all. Upstairs, in the new library an exhibition from Diversity 21 on 'The Commonwealth' was displayed which was much appreciated. Our thanks go to our two assistants to the ABMs who supported both events.

And a warm welcome to David Palin and his family who are now living in Ballyronan.

Deepening in Derry

Deepening in DerryA group of 'deepeners' in the communal meeting place in Londonderry on May 25th. Eddie Whiteside, from Newtownards, was the guest speaker and his subject The Station and Claims of Bahá'u'lláh. Others came from Coleraine including two inquirers. The talk was much appreciated and was followed by an interested discussion.
