NEWS FROM THE TRAINING INSTITUTE

Changes in Area Coordination

There is a change in the Area 1 coordination. Colette Rodgers who has been serving in this capacity with great dedication over the past year is unable to continue. The Training Institute Board is profoundly grateful for, and highly values, Colette’s various and sacrificial services to the institute process over the years. The Board is at present in the process of appointing a new area coordinator. In the meantime all enquiries for Area 1 should be addressed to the Regional Coordinator, Arjang Agahi If you are unsure about who is your area coordinator, please visit: www.bahai.org.uk/traininginstitute_ni

Intensive Courses held over Christmas Holidays 27-30 Dec

Tutor Training

There were 6 participants who thoroughly enjoyed the course. The friends were very committed to the programme and process. Meals were supplied by the tutor, consisting of soup and Irish stew, followed by trifle and cake. Later we had pizza followed by wafers (sliders to the initiated). The course developed by the Training Institute to advance the number of tutors was warmlyreceived and very effective.

Ruhi Course 2 – Arising to Serve

This course was shared between the Gornalls’ house in Magherafelt and the Lucks’ house in Portrush. Seven collaborators participated. The service project was held on 31 December, and was a social meeting organised by the study circle. Newly enrolled believers and friends were invited, resulting in an attendance of over 30 friends. Following a dinner with international cuisine, visitors were encouraged to sing karaoke.

Ruhi Course 6 – Teaching the Cause

This was a four-day course held at the Grahams’ household. There were two dedicated collaborators who thoroughly enjoyed the course and completed Book 6 successfully . The collaborators made an action plan which resulted in the creation of a book 1 Study Circle with nine non-Bahá’ís!

Training Institute Web System

The system is now improving, and tutors can complete their interim reports online. All new Study Circles will therefore be able to make use of the new system. This will greatly simplify reporting for tutors, as well as easily providing statistical information for the institutions. If you would like to find out more about this system, please contact the Regional Coordinator. Please start using this website, and encourage others, Bahá'í and non-Bahá'í, to do the same: www.bahai.org.uk/traininginstitute_ni
