OFFICIAL GREETINGS FOR HOLY DAY

21 May 2004

Dear Baha'i Friends,

We are happy to share with you the text of a letter addressed and couriered to the National Secretary by the Home Secretary, David Blunkett. This is asignificant and unsolicited mark of the recognition of the Faith at a very high level in Government.

With loving Baha'i greetings,
National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of the United Kingdom,
Barney Leith, Secretary.

I wanted to write to send you my best wishes on the festival of the Declaration of the Báb. I hope the Baha'i community has an enjoyable celebration this Sunday. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for the continued excellent work that the National Spiritual Assembly and many individual Bahá’ís around the country do to promote community cohesion and good relations between people of different faiths and races in the UK. Your community's contribution is much valued.

Best wishes,
DAVID BLUNKETT
