LORNE - VENUE FOR THE SUMMER SCHOOL

The 20 acre Lorne Estate is situated on a stunning elevated site overlooking the waters of Belfast Lough. Secluded wood and river areas bring a privacy seldom found in normal hotel or conference venues. Built in 1875, this distinctive house was owned by Henry Campbell, a prominent linen merchant who named it after Lorne on the West Coast of Scotland - the hereditary home of the Campbell Clan. In 1946 it was purchased by Girlguiding Ulster and is now an upgraded and modernised facility.

The main house provides accommodation, dining rooms, and meeting rooms. Accommodation is also provided in the Coach House and the Marion Greaves Centre. Some is en suite and there are disabled facilities. The main meeting hall is in the Marion Greaves Centre. There is plenty of outdoor spacee for relaxation, chatting, and exploring.
