Council Receives Gifts

Recently the Bahá’í Council has been the recipient of several beautiful gifts. These, of course, really belong to the Northern Ireland Community as a whole and will be preserved for the friends to see from time to time – some are precious, some are historic, some are loving presents from friends.

The first was a very moving gift of a small bag made by a Bahá’í prisoner in Teheran and the second was a silk rose, given by Auxiliary Board member Anne O’Sullivan – which she wore in Haifa for the opening of the International Teaching Centre. Denis Coyle (ABM) gave a CD of Bahá’í Music given in Haifa. Ian Long gave us a lovely glass mosaic made from broken pieces of stain-glass from the Shrine of the Báb. We have a clock presented by the National Assembly of the Irish Republic and a painting by Mary Kpakra. Other gifts of furniture and office equipment were given prior to the election of the Council. Who knows – one day we may have our very own Archives building!
